Bolgheri is located in the Province of Livorno, only a few kilometers from the sea. Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, it is home to famous red wines such as Sassicaia, Grattamacco, Ornellaia and Masseto. The Bolgheri wine business is a tradition started centuries ago and encouraged over time by local lords: the family Della Gherardesca. The family also owned the beautiful castle that you can see at the entrance of the village and from which begins the long cypress avenue also celebrated by Carducci in one of his poems. The avenue is one of the most fascinating corners of Bolgheri, an example of landscape harmony between man and nature. The village an ideal starting point for excursions in the area, there are numerous hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding trails.
